ScotPHN is currently undertaking a piece of national work on chronic pain. The proposed project is being undertaken in conjunction with NHS Lanarkshire, NHS Tayside and NHS Highland will build on learning from their local work, including e.g. effective prescribing. National meetings of the project group are taking place to better understand the local and national landscape. It is proposed that a needs assessment be undertaken to inform developments to support action and progress this agenda, whilst identifying the public health contribution.
