The course was provided by the Health Economics Research Unit and the Health Services Research Unit of the University of Aberdeen and is funded by the Health Economics Network for Scotland.

The purpose of the course was to introduce attendees to the identification, appraisal and application of economic evaluation for policy-making in public health. The intended audience for the course was Health Care Planners, Finance Directors and other health care managers working in Health Boards who have no prior experience in economic evaluation.
